1. How is OLS LearningStore™ different from other eLearning systems?
Unlike most eLearning systems that are designed for corporations (employee training) or academic institutions (student training), OLS LearningStore™ was developed specifically for training organizations and educational content providers who want to sell their courses and materials on the Web. The software includes sales, marketing and administrative functions unique to training businesses. In particular, OLS LearningStore is ideally suited for providers of professional development and continuing education.

2. What are the system requirements for OLS LearningStore?
OLS LearningStore runs on a Linux Apache Web server with a MySQL database. The site can be accessed via the Web with Internet Explorer or Netscape Communicator browsers, version 4.0 or greater.

3. Who hosts OLS LearningStore?

You can host OLS LearningStore on your own in-house Web server or at your ISP. Or, if you prefer, SOF can host and manage the application for you for a monthly fee.

4. What's involved with setting up and managing OLS LearningStore?
Setting up OLS LearningStore is a relatively simple process that takes approximately 1-3 weeks depending on your specific requirements.

  1. Decide on your hosting solution and configure Web server accordingly.
  2. Determine your integration requirements with your existing Website or information system.
  3. Add your customized graphics to the OLS LearningStore navigation system.
  4. Integrate your merchant account into the OLS LearningStore shopping cart system.
  5. Configure the OLS LearningStore settings and options to your requirements.
  6. Conduct staff training.
  7. Begin adding course content and bookstore items.
  8. Go live!

SOF's IT team provides free telephone and online support to its OLS LearningStore customers.

6. Can OLS LearningStore communicate with my existing database and/or e-commerce system?
OLS LearningStore is a relational database application built in PERL with a MySQL database. Data can be easily exported to other applications.

7. How much does OLS LearningStore cost?
The base cost for OLS LearningStore ranges from $10,000 - $20,000 depending on implementation requirements. Customization fees are provided on a per-project proposal basis.
